The fire resistant multi-laminated glasses of the Pyroplan butt joint system permit the construction of partition walls in all-glass appearance with fire resistant categories EI 30 and EI 60.
Its composition and edge working differ basically from conventional fire resistant glasses. The abuting glass edges are specially shaped by Glastec and prepared for the glazing.
The Pyroplan glasses are joined with an almost invisible seal. The joint width is appr. 5 mm. Hence a filigree flush and frameless butt joint glazing is provided, appr. 19 mm thick in category EI 30 and appr. 31 mm thick in category EI 60. This technique enables corner connections too.
The Pyroplan butt joint glazing has been tested in timber and steel frames acc. to EN.
